The Bt. Blunder: agents on their way
So finally they have made a firm decision on their side to stand in favor of multinationals. They are extremely excited to bring G.M. foods in our platter within no time. Even they are there in power to serve the nation, to save the nation ,to protect the nature and all of its creations/resources. I am talking about the corrupt politicians of our Nation. Let us think seriously for whom they are working? And should it be continuous? No, never. At no cost. We can't permit someone to play with our lives, to spoil the nature and its biodiversity just because of the pure selfish interests of the multinationals and their local agents.
Monsanto is firmly willing to launch its Bt. brinjal here in India and why don’t the corporate giant think so. When the company has a great indirect support of Indian Government through GEAC (Genetic Engineering Approval Committee) then it will be the biggest silly mistake of the giant to withdraw its idea of launching Bt. brinjal in the country. The committee has already given approval to Bt. Brinjal to be launched in the Indian market by totally ignoring the results of bio- safety test reports of Bt. brinjal .These results totally stand against the particular type of vegetable. What a shameless job they have done.
We the people of independent India can never allow any GEAC or Government to make a decision about what we have to eat. It will always be decided by the individual only what he has to eat. No one can force someone to eat something that he doesn’t wish. But Monsanto want to spoil our right to eat and live in our own way. What a silly joke it is!
Here in this country, a larger number of people are totally ingorant about G.M. or Bt. Food/crops and its further impacts on their soil, health and environment. How the government does allow any multinationals to use our native land as a place for experiments of any suspected technologies. But it is true that through GEAC the government has already allowed them to use our motherland as a laboratory for testing G.M. food and crops. This is definitely a serious crime against the decent Indians and also against the Mother Nature. Are we all the Ginny Pigs?
See another tail of joke- The chairperson of GEAC individually is the owner of a genetic engineering company. Perhaps that’s the reason that GEAC never showed interest that the bio safety tests of Bt Crops take place in real and through a proper channel in India . Committee always believes on data, provided by the manufacturer, with closed eyes. And the blunder is, Monsanto has never done any bio safety test of Bt. crops in India and always gave the copies of American bio safety tests to GEAC. On the basis of that data, GEAC had given approval to the crops like Bt. cotton and Bt. Brinjal too. This is completely unbearable, unacceptable and unwanted too.
In a country like America where the whole agriculture practices are fully mechanized. Cattle never graze in open fields. Farming is not labor intensive. How can a committee like GEAC give approval to the G.E. Companies to launch their products here in a totally different country than America on the basis of their own bio safety test’s data, mostly based on the false facts and big lies too.
